SCHIFFSTECHNIK | SHIP TECHNOLOGY 1,400 exhibitors from 30 countries Themed »Forward Together«, the four-day »Marintec 2021« will be held from 7–10 December at Shanghai New International Expo Center – with several hybrid options for digital participation For a long time, many maritime players have seen the exhibition as a hub to accelerate and scale up business opportunities in China and beyond. In view of the Corona pandemic and its impact on everyday and business life, not least in China in particular, it was unclear for quite a while time to what extent and in what way Marintec could and would take place this year. Now the organisers have announced several details. Marintec China will welcome 13 Country and Region Pavilions including Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, and Switzerland. Over 1,400 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions are expected to showcase their products and services in six exhibition halls. While international exhibitors will cover Halls N1 and N2, domestic enterprises including China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), COSCO Shipping Corporation, China Merchants Industry, CIMC Raffles, Zhenhua Heavy Industry, Weichai Power, China Classification Society and more will be lining up in Halls W5-W2. In addition to Nantong (Jiangsu), Zhoushan (Zhejiang), Pudong (Shanghai) and Lingang (Shanghai), the number of exhibitors from Shandong and Guangdong increased significantly and reached the highest level ever. The exhibition space of the university area was further expanded. In addition to the traditional exhibitors, Wuhan Polytechnic University and Beihang University were added to the exhibition. Another focus at the fair is the application of digital, intelligent, 5G and other technologies in the marine industry. Smart Ship Representatives from various sectors such as financial institutions, legal institutions, law firms, stock exchanges and universities will also be invited to the forum for an in-depth analysis of the current ship finance environment and to discuss how to deal with litigation. The smart ship session will focus on the latest developments in the areas of Internet of Things, Industrial Internet, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in the field of ships, as well as smart ship standards and regulations, and explore future development trends.
