Exhibitors’ Previews Exhibitors’ Previews Alfa Laval As the company enters its second century of marine service, the focus will continue to be on lifetime vessel performance – achieved through equipment, cooperation and services in applications throughout the ship. Alfa Laval will showcase a breadth of equipment innovation, but also the depth of understanding and commitment needed to keep customers competitive in a changing industry. Equipment from many of Alfa Laval’s seventeen product groups for vessel performance will be on display at the stand, including flagship systems like Alfa Laval PureBallast 3 and Alfa Laval PureSOx. More importantly, Alfa Laval experts will be on hand to discuss the ways Alfa Laval equipment, knowledge and services combine to achieve customer goals throughout the vessel lifetime. As environmental regulations and their enforcement continue to get stricter, Alfa Laval aims to keep customers compliant and secure. From cost-effective treatment of Besuchen Sie uns auf der SMM 2018 Halle A4 STAND 201 The PureSOx scrubber solution Source: Alfa Laval large ballast water flows to fuel-adapted NO x reduction and scrubber connectivity that simplifies compliance with the global sulphur cap, the company says to have reliable and forward-thinking solutions that mean true peace of mind. New fuels and onboard processes are creating new uncertainties, but even familiar threats like cat fines are on the rise. »We have the innovative equipment needed to ensure reliability – from separators and filters to solutions for fuel gas supply and multi-fuel boiler combustion«, the company says. Hall A1, booth 226 Apollo Fire Detectors Apollo Fire Detectors, specialists in the design and manufacture of high quality fire detection products for the marine and offshore market, will be exhibiting a selection of the latest developments in marine fire detection technology. One of the product ranges will be »Discovery« – a high specification analogue addressable fire detector. Also on display will be the Apollo XP95 and the Orbis marine ranges, which have been specially developed to meet stringent marine approvals, and include intrinsically safe detectors for volatile environments like oil rigs. In addition to detectors, supplementary fire system products will also be on display. These include visual indicators and sounders for environments with high ambient noise, or where visual indication of an alarm is required. Ingress of water into fire detectors is another risk in marine environments and devices like the Apollo Deckhead Mounting Box are designed specifically to prevent contaminants entering through the rear of the base. Warren Moyle, Senior Technical Support Engineer at Apollo, says: »Detectors Instandhaltung aller Schiffshaupt - und Hilfsdiesel-Motoren bis 7.000 kW Motoren- und Ersatzteile im Tausch Service für Abgasturbolader und Einspritzpumpen Mechanische Bearbeitung und Fertigung August Storm GmbH & Co. Exhibitors’ Previews for marine applications have to operate reliably under challenging conditions. In addition, devices installed into marine applications have to comply with a unique set of approvals. Apollo has a long tradition of developing specialist detectors that meet these stringent standards.« The new Specialist Environments Technical Manual will be available for specifiers and installers of specialist fire detection equipment. Hall B5, booth 504 August Storm The three companies of the Storm Group, August Storm, Wulf Johannsen and Scan- Diesel offer together full services for ship propulsion systems, decentral organized with worldwide service. According to own information August Storm is one of the largest OEM independent service providers for the maintenance and repair of diesel and gas engines in mobile and maritime drive systems. The company overhauls complete engines, all engine components, crankshafts, engine blocks, main bearing bores, pumps and gears. More than 80 years after the foundation of August Storm, about 330 professionally qualified and practice oriented employees work in the headquarters in Spelle, the two branches and ten service branches. A comprehensive service network, the specialized staff of the company and certifications according to EN ISO 9001, SCCP (Safety Certificate Contractors Petrocemical) and the RAL quality mark would guarantee excellent service features, professional consultation, technical quality and high availability in all questions around the engine says August Storm. Hall A4, booth 201 Auramarine The fuel changeover when entering or exiting ECA’s is a complex process due to the different properties of HFO and low sulphur fuels. A controlled changeover will assist in preventing fuel system malfunctions, machinery wear and downtime. According to Auramarine it’s automated FuelSafe system offers a cost-efficient, safe and rapid method for vessels with segregated tanks for two or more fuels. The solution is available for newbuildings and retrofits. Engines may originally have been designed to run on fuels, the properties of which differ from the fuels that are favoured today due to the new regulations. Auramarine can help to upgrade the system to handle today’s fuels. Their MGO/ MDO supply systems are ideal for providing pilot fuel for LNG-operated engines or as backup for scrubbers, and our HT-water preheating units ensure a smooth start-up after cold ironing, says Auramarine. To manage the critical spare parts inventory proactively, the company has introduced an application that assesses the ship’s spare parts need for a given period, and automatically suggests a ship-specific spare part kit. This can bring benefits also from fleet administration point of view. Hall A4, booth 312 Cryogenic insulation for safe transport, processing and reliable storage of LNG Cryogenic insulation materials for dual-fuel systems, LNG fuel tanks, LNG/LEG/LPG carriers, LNG terminals and FLNG Our laminated densified wood Lignostone ® cryogenic and our fibre-reinforced composite material Durolight ® have been successfully applied in numerous projects.
