Exhibitors’ Previews

Exhibitors’ Previews Exhibitors’ Previews Marine Jet Power (MJP) The Swedish company will present a new series of waterjet drives in Hamburg. The new X-Series is the result of many years of development and experience of mix-flow pumps made of duplex stainless steel. According to MJP with the new X-series of waterjet drives, the user benefits from the successful duplex steel product range because it offers a highly efficient, extremely durable product at an advantageous price. Installation has also been simplified and the maintenance intervals have been reduced. Improved steering and maneuverability with improved stopping and reverse thrust performance has been achieved with the X-Series, resulting in fuel savings of 3%. The new series includes the models X280, X310 and X350, informs Ulrich Jacobsen, Managing Director of Gemo from Lübeck, general importer for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Bulgaria. Incorporating Ocean Signal’s trusted technology within a compact design, the ATA100 is the only Class A AIS transponder available rated to the IPX7 waterproofing standard, the company informs. It is user intuitive, featuring large illuminated keys and an easy-to-grip jog stick and has a 7-inch high-intensity, full-color, rapid-response LCD. The ATB1 is a powerful transponder incorporating superior SOTDMA technology and 5 W output power. It features a sleek, yet rugged, waterproof design. Both units are compatible with Ocean Signal’s rescueME MOB1 man overboard AIS/DSC device. The Ocean Signal portfolio also includes the M100 and M100X MSLD, E101V float-free EPIRB, SafeSea E100 and E100G EPIRB, S100 SART and V100 handheld VHF radio. ACR Electronics is highlighting the award-winning GlobalFIX V4 EPIRB and Pathfinder PRO SART. Hall B1.OG, booth 510 Orlaco The company demonstrates its digital cameras for workships, drilling platforms and harbors. Its consists of EMOS Ethernet cameras and the HD IP zoom camera range. These cameras can be integrated into existing computer networks via Ethernet or TCP/ IP. According to the developer due to this simple integration, maintenance costs could be reduced and users could easily expand their systems. The type and size of the screen can be chosen freely. These cameras are exceptionally rugged, shock (50G) and vibration resistant, waterproof to IP69K and seawater resistant, the company stated. The cameras would run error-free at temperatures between -40 and +65°C. Therefore, it can be used in cold stores on fishing boats or in the engine room, where temperatures can rise sharply. Because of the HD quality it is possible to reproduce details in super-sharp quality, making the operations safe and efficient, says Orlaco. Hall B6, booth 609 Oxymat The marine market is in the process of becoming »greener« and more environmentally friendly. For shipowners to come out on top of this key transition it is important not to forget the important role nitrogen plays – and will play in the future. »By using the Oxymat nitrogen generator instead of a combustion-based technology to produce inert gas onboard ships is ready for future regulations and can also transport a wider range of products. Nitrogen can be used in the process when treating ballast water – to inhibit corrosion in the piping system,« says Jesper Sjögren, Oxymat’s CEO. If a ship is having a ballast water system installed in drydock – this would be a great time to install a new nitrogen generator. The compressed air for the nitrogen generator can even be utilized as working air and has a dew point of minus 20°C Sjögren explains. According to in-house information, Oxymat has supplied more than 180 PSA nitrogen systems to the maritime industry while total production capacity is more than 38,000 Nm3. Nitrogen with a max of 5 % oxygen content is widely used, production costs are 0.18 kW/Nm3 nitrogen, this means by installing an Oxymat nitrogen generator onboard ships is more than 35 % cheaper in energy consumption than membrane systems. The new nitrogen generator will be launched at SMM. Due to a high demand for the new marine nitrogen models, Oxymat has already sold more than 100 units. Some examples of sold installations are gas carriers in Korea, platform supply vessels in Turkey, oil/chemical tankers in China and Taiwan and many more. Hall B1.EG, booth 401 P.E.R. Innovative escape and rescue guidance systems from P.E.R. Flucht- und Rettungsleitsysteme could save lives of passengers and crew. The company based in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, is a provider of safety guidance systems on land, at sea and in the air for more than 25 years. Their brands Permalux and Guideline are used worldwide in the fields of building technology, aviation and shipping.
