The HVAC plant is well known to keep the passengers’ comfort constant but it is also a safety relevant system. By optimizing the systems and developing innovative components, the energy consumption and space requirement will be reduced in the future, but MAC takes also care of a maintenance friendly configuration. In April 2018 MAC Hamburg and Meyer will hand over their first turnkey system to the customer of »Norwegian Bliss«, this is the start for a major ramp up to deliver HVAC systems for three ships per year from Meyer Werft and two ships per year from Meyer Turku. MAC Hamburg has a team of more than 140 employees active in various disciplines and is the HVAC competence center within Meyer group. The orderbook is full up to 2024 to built huge and complex cruise ships. HVAC News SSI ShipConstructor 2017 R2 for HVAC modeling SSI has released a new version of its flagship AutoCAD based CAD/CAM application: ShipConstructor 2017 R2. This software release streamlines reviews and planning and provides dramatic productivity increases in HVAC modeling. Software representations of HVAC parts have been enhanced, export functions added. Also inlet and vane turn elbows have been introduced. This feature enables more accurate modeling, increases manufacturability and streamlines processes. There are now greater choices and increased efficiency and flexibility when modeling, generating production output and creating reports. Product Hierarchy User Defined Attributes (UDAs) inherited by structure parts are now visible in AutoCAD Properties. This means that they can be exported to Autodesk Navis works for review or for sharing drawings with people who do not have access to the original Product Hierarchy tree. The benefit of this is that users can now more easily Schifffahrt | Shipping identify groups of structural parts. That makes reviews, material movement and planning for steel cutting much easier.
